The Development and Operation of Automatic Video Switching System

(in English) Television stations are facing problems such as manpower shortages and increased workloads. To solve this problem, we have been researching the automation of technical operations in program production, and have developed a system that can automate “video switching,” an important section of the process. The system identifies the speaker by judging the microphone level of the performer, and then analyzes the video to determine reactions such as surprise. Using the results of these judgments, we developed a unique algorithm that makes switching look as if it is being performed by a human operator. This system contributes to the reduction of workload and manpower in program production.
