High Dynamic Range (HDR) CMOS image sensors are required for use in extremely illuminated environments, such as outdoors.
Our research group has proposed a Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) HDR CMOS image sensor,
which consists of a four-transistor (4T) pixel.
While the 4T-DCG can achieve a dynamic range (DR) comparable to that of conventional DCG sensors, the bright signal exhibits a nonlinear response.
In this work, we propose an 4T-DCG pixel with a larger transfer gate (TG) to improve linearity. According to device simulation results, the full well capacity (FWC), DR, and linearity error are $20~rm{ke^-}$, $85.4$~dB, and $1.7$~%, respectively. |
