Compact aerial display with striped retro-reflector slanted for vertical and horizontal scrolling display

We have clarified that a compact aerial display can realize natural scrolling display in both vertical and horizontal directions by use of slanted arrangement of striped retro-reflector. As the compact aerial display has a striped retro-reflector in front of the LED panel as the light source, the area covered by the striped retro-reflector cannot be displayed as an aerial image. However, a natural display can be achieved by scrolling perpendicularly to the striped retro-reflector. In this study, the striped retro-reflector placed at 15, 45, and 75 degrees to the ground can provide a natural aerial image when scrolling vertically and horizontally. This allowed for a greater degree of freedom in the content displayed on the compact aerial display. |
