A study on Fraser-Wilcox illusion using oscillating linear figures

This paper reports the experiment in which oscillating linear figures of the Fraser-Wilcox illusion are used. Although the number of studies on this illusion is large, the number of conditional analytical researches on it is small. One of the reasons for this is the instability and weakness of the illusion. In the experiment, the illusion was enhanced by oscillation of the illusion figures. Illusion magnitude was measured using linear figures onto which coloring of the original figures was transplanted. The experimental results demonstrate that conditional analytical researches on the illusion become easier by using oscillating linear figures. |
