Evaluation of robustness against noise in super-resolution complex amplitude measurements using free-space optical propagation and virtual phase conjugation

(in English) Optical measurement, a crucial technique employed in diverse fields such as three-dimensional biological
tissue imaging in medicine and product inspection in industry, demands high measurement accuracy. Image
resolution is fundamentally limited by the sampling theorem, necessitating high-resolution image sensors.
Furthermore, acquiring the phase component, which carries information about the microstructures of objects,
enables even more precise measurements. Super-resolution optical complex amplitude measurement techniques
based on virtual phase conjugation have been proposed to overcome the resolution limit and obtain both
high-resolution intensity and phase images. This work builds upon these existing techniques and proposes a novel
multi-frame super-resolution method employing a new optical configuration with multiple image acquisitions and
computational processing. The performance of the proposed method, including propagation distance characteristics
and robustness against noise such as shot noise, is evaluated through numerical simulations.
