Luminescence-based gas detectors are attracting attention as a new application of phosphors because of their simplicity and intuitive detection. Bi2MoO6:Eu (BMO:Eu) can detect H2S gas using red emission quenching of Eu3+ ions. The mechanism of H2S detection by BMO:Eu is unclear and knowledge on material design is lacking. In this study, the luminescence modulation ability of BMO:Eu under H2S exposure was evaluated to elucidate the mechanism of H2S detection. |
