Optimization of Ray Trace Parameters in an Urban Microcell Environment for the Accuracy and Computation costs

(in English) Ray tracing is used to analyze propagation mechanisms and estimate radio wave propagation in complex urban structures. While increasing the number of reflection and diffraction points or rays to be considered in ray tracing improves the accuracy of the analysis, it also significantly increases computational cost. To address this issue, we aim to enhance the accuracy of propagation estimation with minimal computational cost by optimizing the ray tracing input parameters that particularly affect propagation loss. As an optimization method, the ray tracing parameters were optimized using genetic algorithms, with measurement data from outdoor environments as evaluation metrics. Furthermore, the relationship between the optimized parameters, propagation loss, and computational cost was analyzed based on the optimization results.
