In recent years, the use of high frequency bands has further expanded in order to achieve higher speed, lower latency, and higher capacity in wireless communication systems in line with the spread of digitalization such as 5G. One way to use the high frequency bands is to improve the transmission performance by collaborating multiple terminals in close proximity to each other. However, high frequency band wireless communications are susceptible to shadowing, and in particular, shadowing effects caused by human body shadowing are expected to have a significant impact on terminal collaboration. In this paper, we report the results of comparisons between the super high frequency (SHF) and ultra high frequency (UHF) bands, in which the effects of human body shadowing were measured in an anechoic chamber room under the assumption of a pedestrian. As a result, it was confirmed that the shadowed time is shorter and the shadowing effect is larger in the SHF band than in the UHF band. This result confirms that it is important to accurately understand and model the effects of human body shadowing in collaborative communications between terminals using high frequency bands in order to realize stable communications. |
