Development of an easy-reframing software for vertical video editing that preserves creator's intention

In recent years, the viewing of video content on mobile devices has been increasing, and vertical video content that is well-suited for mobile devices has been attracting attention, particularly on social media. Therefore, some technologies to easily generate vertical videos from 16:9 videos have been proposed. However, those vertical video generation technologies have limitations on the types of video expressions to be able to generate a vertical video from a 16:9 video. Hence, the vertical video cannot always fully convey the intended message expressed in 16:9 video. In this paper, we conducted an editing experiment in which an editor produced vertical videos from 16:9 video for news programs, extracted the necessary function required for the editing software from the video expressions used in the editing process, and then, describes the features of the developed editing software. |
