We are conducting research and development on a system that controls directionality by switching multiple antennas as a method to transmit aerial video images from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with a microwave Field Pick-up Unit (FPU) to existing FPU base stations. Simply switching antennas can cause signal interruptions, which may significantly affect transmission. Therefore, we propose an antenna switching method that forms a beam using two adjacent antennas and switches them one at a time, thereby maintaining continuous signal output during switching and preventing interruptions. This report presents the results of prototyping the antenna switching device based on the proposed method. |
