Proposal for an information gateway for intergenerational communication

The gap in tool usage between generations in remote communication is significant. When a new and attractive communication tool is adopted, especially by young people, it replaces the previous tool in the communication space and changes the way messages are expressed. Users, including the elderly, who can only use old tools, are left out of communication and left behind.In this paper, a mechanism to promote intergenerational communication by circulating messages between various tools is proposed. Specifically, an information gateway that realizes message conversion is placed in the message transmission process, and (A) messages that use different media for each tool are converted, and (B) the message is reconstructed into a message expression that is appropriately conveyed to the receiver. Taking into account that receivers have appropriate ways of receiving messages depending on the situation, the media and devices that express the message are adaptively used. |
