Evaluating the Effect of Visual Guides on Depth Perception of Aerial Images with Depth Estimation AI

This study clarified that the enhancement of the depth perception of aerial images by guides of real object is increased by getting closer the image area to the guide area by use of depth estimation AI. Furthermore, depth estimation AI indicates that the effect requires surrounding the aerial image with a physical guide; when using an aerial-image frame or a hand instead, the enhancement is not observed. These findings contribute to understanding depth perception in aerial displays and provide insights for improving their usability. |
