本研究は,内在性光感受性網膜神経節細胞(ipRGC)に発現するメラノプシン由来の信号が,有彩色刺激の明るさ知覚に与える影響と色相との関係を検証した.実験では,8つの色相に関して,錐体刺激量と輝度を一定に保ったままメラノプシン刺激量のみを変化させた2つの刺激を,色・明るさマッチングをすることで,参加者の知覚的な明るさを計測した.結果,全色相でメラノプシン刺激量の増加に伴い知覚的な明るさが有意に上昇することが確認された.また,その寄与度は色相により異なり,統計的に有意ではないがS信号と弱い負の相関傾向があった.明るさ知覚形成において,メラノプシン信号とS錐体拮抗型チャンネルが関連する可能性がある. |

This study examined how melanopsin-driven signals in intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) contribute to the perceived brightness of chromatic stimuli and how this contribution depends on hue. In the experiment, two stimuli were generated for each of the eight hues using the silent substitution method, where the melanopsin stimulation was manipulated while keeping cone stimulation and luminance constant. Perceived brightness was measured through color and brightness matching. The results confirmed that perceived brightness significantly increased with higher melanopsin stimulation across all hues. Furthermore, the magnitude of this contribution varied by hue and exhibited a negative correlation trend with the S-(L+M) cone-opponent channel, though the correlation was not statistically significant. There is the possibility that melanopsin signals may be related to an S-cone–opponent channel in the formation of brightness perception. |
