In Virtual Reality, a first-person perspective generally provides a high sense of embodiment and presence but often results in limited spatial awareness. Conversely, a third-person perspective enhances spatial awareness but is suggested to diminish the sense of embodiment, indicating a trade-off between the two. To address this, we proposed a "fused view" that utilizes the characteristics of binocular rivalry, allowing users to voluntarily switch between different viewpoints presented to each eye. In this paper, we investigated the persistence of the sense of embodiment and spatial awareness during viewpoint switching. The experimental results, however, showed no significant differences regarding the persistence of either the sense of embodiment or spatial awareness. |
