In contemporary Japan, where landscapes are systematically planned, Virtual Reality (VR) simulator that supports consensus building between local governments and residents may be an effective tool for promoting high quality landscape formation, This study examined whether landscape evaluations obtained while viewing the Shinano River shoreline area around Bandai Bridge in Niigata City depend on viewpoint. Seven adults with normal visual acuity and stereoscopic visual acuity observed 189 visual stimuli in a VR environment on a head-mounted display, combining three Line of Sight Area, three building height conditions per area, and seven viewpoints, then completed a 16 item psychological questionnaire. |
