Evaluation of eye-tracking games for promoting eye movements

In this study, we developed a gaze-based game designed to promote diverse eye movement patterns. We implemented a hands-free prototype with the Tobii Eye Tracker 5, in which players control a rolling ball through their gaze direction. To elicit specific eye movement patterns, such as saccades and smooth pursuit, we introduced game design elements, including stage transitions, moving floors, and obstacles. Furthermore, we conducted user studies to investigate the effects of different input methods and content designs on eye movement characteristics, followed by a comparative analysis of the results. |
