Visualization of Sound Information to Support Perception of Moving Sound Sources in VR Space

In recent years, studies on sound visualization for deaf and hard-of-hearing have been actively conducted; however, methods that enable intuitive perception of sound movement from moving sound sources have not been sufficiently investigated. This study proposes a support method for visually perceiving sound movement generated by moving sound sources. Using a head-mounted display, visual stimuli corresponding to the pitch and loudness of sounds are presented on displays placed outside the effective field of view in a virtual environment. This study investigates whether users can perceive the presence and movement of sounds without shifting their visual attention. |
