Enoshima Tourism from 30 cm above Ground

This paper reports on the development of Enoshima VR, which is designed to experience a tourist site from multiple perspectives. Existing tourism VR services, such as wide-area information gathering, offer comprehensiveness and convenience. However, details such as spatial information tend to be overlooked and are not fully utilized. Therefore, this study aimed to enrich the VR tourism experience by focusing on narrow spaces and introducing a cat's eye view (30 cm above the ground) into Enoshima VR. The awareness of the user is naturally drawn into narrow spaces by lowering the viewpoint. Users can experience a site from both lower and higher viewpoints. Introducing multiscale viewpoints will lead to improved tourism VR services and provide a novel sense of anticipation and humor. |
