This study implements an automatic motion generation method for simple vector graphics (rectangles) driven by musical features such as beats, onset strength, and harmonic/percussive source separation (HPSS). We organized multiple synchronization strategies as reproducible scripts on Adobe After Effects, including two-layer composition with/without HPSS, linear mapping, and randomized baselines. To compare conditions, we conducted a simultaneous multi-condition presentation experiment using two music pieces, where participants made forced-choice selections for several criteria (perceived synchronization, pleasantness/boredom, predictability, and beat fit). Forced-choice responses were converted into within-subject rankings and analyzed using Friedman tests with Nemenyi post-hoc comparisons. The results indicate that randomized baselines tend to be selected for negative criteria, whereas two-layer strategies are more often selected for pleasantness and synchronization-related criteria. |
