A Study on Three-Dimensional Presentation of Soccer Freestyle Using AR and Skill Acquisition Support

We developed a smartphone-based AR system that overlays a 3D avatar demonstrating ideal soccer freestyle motions and allows users to observe from arbitrary viewpoints. Sixteen participants without soccer experience were assigned to an AR or video condition and practiced four tricks. We compared success rate, observation time, questionnaire responses, and motion similarity computed from MediaPipe Pose (DTW and RMSE). No significant differences were found in success rate or motion similarity, suggesting comparable short-term learning effects. In contrast, observation time was longer in the AR condition, indicating that multi-view inspection changes learners’ observation behavior. |
