The use of connected TV applications for video streaming services provided by broadcasters has been expanding. As broadcasters increasingly offer services through both broadcasting and applications, expectations for seamless integration between the two platforms have grown. However, it has not been possible to switch from an application to a broadcast service using existing standard technologies. This paper proposes a method for applying the Hybridcast Connect Protocol to connected TV applications, and presents verification results obtained using commercially available receivers. |
