Effects of Task Difficulty and Trial Performance on Spatial Cognition Puzzle Tasks with Apple Vision Pro

To examine how trial repetition and task difficulty affect performance in spatial cognition tasks in mixed reality,
we conducted a 3D puzzle task using Apple Vision Pro. Twenty participants solved two puzzles (easy and hard) twice while
interacting via gaze and pinch gestures. The number of instruction checks were recorded. The second trial significantly reduced
both measures for each difficulty level, indicating rapid practice effects. However, the completion time was not significantly
reduced in the easy-level task. The hard puzzle required substantially longer time and more instruction checks, and showed
larger improvements across trials. |
