In recent years, the increase in electronic waste has become a serious issue due to the widespread use of electronic devices, and efficient recycling technologies are strongly required. In particular, automatic identification and classification of electronic components are important for improving the efficiency of resource recovery. In this study, an image classification method for waste electronic components using deep learning was investigated. EfficientNet-B0 was adopted as the classification model, and both transfer learning and fine-tuning were applied. In addition, data augmentation and weighted sampling were introduced to address the class imbalance problem. Experimental results showed that fine-tuning achieved higher classification performance than transfer learning and enabled stable classification even under class-imbalanced conditions. These results indicate that the proposed method is effective for automatic classification of electronic waste and improving the efficiency of recycling processes. |
