アニマルウェルフェアの観点からのニーズにより、孵化する前の鶏卵段階で雌雄を推定する技術を開発している。雌鶏の産卵時に産道で雌雄により回転方向が逆であるという仮説の元、鶏卵を90°ずつ回転させて撮影した鶏卵の輪郭形状を解析することにより、回転方向を推定して雌雄の判別を目指している。本報告では、提案手法の概要と検討事項、および検討結果について報告する。 |

In response to animal welfare concerns, we are developing a technology to determine the sex of chickens at the pre-hatching stage. Based on the hypothesis that the direction of rotation in the oviduct differs between male and female chickens during egg-laying, we aim to distinguish between the sexes by analyzing the contour shapes of eggs captured as they are rotated in 90° increments. This report outlines the proposed method, discusses key considerations, and presents the results of our study. |
