This study aimed to deepen the understanding of business administration and enhance career education by implementing a "Newspaper in Education" (NIE) program—utilizing economic news articles—in second- and fourth-year university seminars, and subsequently evaluating its effectiveness. Class activities included reading and analyzing articles, completing worksheets, giving presentations, and engaging in Q&A sessions and discussions; surveys were administered at the beginning and end of the program. The results indicated that while improvements in conversational, writing, and presentation skills were limited, the program demonstrated measurable benefits regarding knowledge acquisition, reading comprehension, information-gathering skills, and the development of perspectives on job hunting and careers. Future efforts will involve continuing examination of the program during the second semester, with a view to potentially incorporating communication skills as a key objective of the NIE initiative. |
