An Arc 3D display presents floating images with continuous motion parallax by illuminating multiple arc-shaped scratches. Conventional omnidirectional Arc 3D displays present parallel floating images to the substrate. In this study, we demonstrate that a perpendicular floating image to the substrate can be constructed with omnidirectional views by using different floating distances and its appearance changes with the viewing angle. This omnidirectional configuration may enable 360°-viewable applications, such as guidance displays and digital signage. |
