Retro-reflective Multi-View Privacy Projection with Mutual Leakage Compensation

When multiple people share the same table but view it from different directions—as in board games—each person wants to view certain information while keeping it hidden from other viewpoints. To address this, we use a method in which a projector dedicated to each viewpoint projects an image onto a retroreflective sheet. However, because the sheet’s reflective characteristics are not perfectly direction-selective, part of the light leaks and is observed as faint crosstalk at the unintended viewpoint. We therefore propose canceling this crosstalk by projecting a compensation image from each projector. Because the compensation image itself also leaks toward the other viewpoint, the two compensations become mutually coupled. In this study, we experimentally evaluate how effectively this
