A Study on Earth Image Data Interpolation Systems of a Pico-satellite Negai

(in English) Kuroki laboratory at Soka University developed a pico-satellite called “Negai” which was launched into the space on May 21, 2010 successfully. Its orbit is a circular orbit with 300km altitude, and then the thin air pulled it back into the atmosphere to be burnt out like an artificial shooting star in 35 days after launch. One of Negai’s engineering missions is to take the earth image. However packet loss in transmission is worried about making the picture illegible. There for, we propose two systems to recover the possible packet losses in the picture: 1. Interpolation using adjacent area pixel information. 2. Analogical interpolation using similar picture regions to the packet loss region. The experimental results show these systems effective for satellite image interpolation.
