An Estimation of Radiation Patterns of a Vehicle Mounted Antenna for Digital Terrestrial Broadcasting Reception

(in English) To estimate on-vehicle antenna characteristics accurately, the surrounding environment such as the vehicle body form must be considered in measurements and numerical analysis. This report studies the vehicle model simplification related to radiation patterns of an inverted L antenna for receiving the digital terrestrial television mounted on the vehicle. The numerical evaluations are carried out by employing the FDTD technique. We clarify that the structure of roof and pillar must be considered in computing radiation patterns for four types of numerical model.
