Robust object extraction using a region-based background subtraction

(in English) Background subtraction technique is often affected by illumination variation. To alleviate the problem, the authors have proposed a novel background subtraction technique by extending the conventional pixel-based approach to region-based one. This paper illustrates advantages of the proposed technique over the conventional one, by applying it to several test images having various shape of targets, shading, and other interference.
