Modeling of woven structures with BRDF/BTDF and rendering of clothes

(in English) The need for rendering woven cloth arises frequently in computer graphics. Cloth has a specific appearance, sheen, and transparency. A BRDF (bidirectional reflectance distribution function) model is well known as the basic technology for expressing the appearance of woven cloth; this model has been the subject of several researches till date. In this paper, we propose technique to estimate woven structure formed of twisted yarns of the measurement cloth material by image information processing of the images gained by the BRDF measuring machine. It becomes possible to express the textures in consideration of the woven structure of clothes, without carrying out creation of a complicated shading model and texture mapping with this technique.
