Subjective Evaluation of Appearance Reproduction of Moving 3D Images Produced by High-Density Directional Display

(in English) The high-density directional display, which was originally developed to attain a natural 3D display, can control the horizontal ray directions precisely so that it can reproduce object appearances such as glare, transparency, and softness. In this study, the 72-directional VGA display was used to study the effects of moving 3D images on the reproduction of the object appearances by subjective evaluation. The results showed that moving images improve the appearance reproduction and the presence of object. It also showed that moving images improve the appearance reproduction and presence of object in the 2D display, but it cannot provide higher appearances and presences than the high-density directional display does.
