Automatic video digesting technique for broadcasted baseball games based on telop data

(in English) This paper presents an automatic video-digesting technique for broadcasted baseball games based on telop data on TV. We analyze a progress of a baseball games with score telops and collect important scenes based on information entropies for baseball events. Since rare events such as “home run” have high entropies and frequent events such as “out” have low ones, we collect a scenes including high entropy events. Thus a digest video including much information for limited time is made. In the experiments, we compared the proposed technique with a conventional technique based on sound information and ensured its utility.
