Measuring dichromats' perceptual saturation using gamut expansion effect

(in English) Gamut expansion effect (GE) of trichromats and dichromats were measured in our research. In our experiment, observers matched the color of a matching stimulus against a vivid Mondorian-like surround to a reference stimulus in a uniform gray surround. Max saturated colors in display gamut and dichromat-simulated colors of them were used for the vivid surround. In the results, dichromats showed a tendency that their GEs stronger than trichromats' one. It suggests that the surround saturation processing mechanism of dichromats should be developed in different ways from normal trichromats.
