2-pass Video Coding Algorithm based on Macroblock Rate-Distortion and Macroblock Type

(in English) In order to achieve high-efficient video coding, 2-pass video coding algorithms are proposed.
In the existing 2-pass video coding algorithms, to focus on the feature quantitiy of the coding result in the frame, the video coding efficiency is grown in the frame.
In this paper, we focus on the macroblock coding efficiency (rate-distortion).
In the proposed algorithm to acheve high-efficient video coding, the quantization parameters which optimize video coding efficiency of each macroblocks are decided based on the 1-pass encoding information which are slice type, macro block type, and the amount of macro block generated bits.
Using these quantization parameters at the 2-pass encoding, the video coding efficiency is grown in the macroblock.
The proposwd algorithm is able to improve the video coding efficiency by about 20 percents.
