Development of a 1.5-Gbps modulator and demodulator

(in English) We are studying wideband modulation/demodulation technologies to realize system that can transmit non-compression high-definition television signal and the ultra high-definition television signal in wireless transmission of the broadcasting program materials. We developed a QPSK modulator and demodulator that used FPGA for the signal processing device. The modulator makes QPSK modulated signal by its symbol rate of 742 MHz for 1.4835-Gbps HD-SDI signals. In this paper, we mention techniques for realizing high-speed wideband modulation and demodulation technologies, for instance, the features and the circuit configurations of the modulator and demodulator.
