Recently, a photo-alignment method ,which is a noncontact and clean process, attracts people’s interest against a rubbing method. But due to its weak anchoring and long process time, the application of the method to a fabrication process of IPS-LCDs is not realized. In this report, we study a photo-alignment control of planer aligned LCs using new photo-sensitive material with LC properties, aiming at applying the method to an IPS-LCD fabrication process. |
