Evaluation of Fundamental Characteristics of Wireless Terminal Authentication Scheme Based on Radio Propagation Characteristics

(in English) There is a problem of spoofing attack to legitimate users in wireless communication. As one of the countermeasures for this problem, new wireless terminal authentication schemes based on radio propagation have been proposed. These schemes are based on the fact that spatial correlation of radio propagation is low for receiving points more than some wavelengths apart in a multipath fading environment. In this paper, we have carried out numerical simulations and experiments to evaluate the fundamental authentication performance of authentication schemes using 7-element ESPAR antenna and 4-element array antenna. We show the performance difference and feasibility of these schemes in an actual environment.
