An Interactive Balloon Display

Recently, many kinds of devices with an interactive touch panel are often used in our daily life. These are typically flat displays. In this research, we propose an interactive balloon display. Image projection with a fish-eye lens covers the whole surface of the spherical balloon. And the interaction with our hands as touching, sliding, and slightly and hardly pushing are detected with an infrared camera, installed inside of the balloon, and becomes a trigger of some image effects. And then, everyone can intuitively enjoy the interaction with the unique softness of the balloon. |
