Measurement of accommodation and vergence responses to stereoscopic images of electronic holography

(in English) The conflict between accommodation and vergence is one of the possible cause of visual fatigue while viewing stereoscopic display. Traditional two-view and multi-view stereoscopic displays cannot match distance information of accommodation with that of vergence, however, in principle, reconstructed 3D images of electronic holography can. In this study we measured accommodation and vergence responses simultaneously while viewing stereoscopic images of holographic, super-multi view (SMV), and two-view displays. Accommodation and vergence responses to holographic and SMV stereoscopic images were similar to the responses to the real target.
