In this paper, we investigate on-chip fluorescence counting system by using a CMOS image sensor for single-molecule digital enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ELISA is a technique to identify the type and amount of antigen by detecting the enzyme which generates a fluorescent substance through enzyme reaction. An on-chip fluorescence measurement technique allows miniaturizing the system by removing the fluorescence microscope optics. In the present study, we fabricated a CMOS image sensor with a micro-chamber array and demonstrated on-chip fluorescence beads counting. |
