Local Adaptive High-Speed Single Image Dehazing

(in English) We propose a fast single image dehazing method that uses the local statistics of the dark channel. In single image dehazing, a haze-free image is created from a single hazed image by calculating the transmission map of the haze. There is a high computational cost to this process because it requires a complex matrix operation. We have therefore focused on the local histogram of the dark channel in order to refine the transmission map more quickly. In the proposed method, edges of the regions and objects in the transmission map are recovered using the local histogram of the dark channel. We achieved an operation time dozens of times faster than the conventional method, thereby successfully reducing the memory consumption.
