An Animation on Blooming of Prunus x Yedoensis (Someiyoshino) Cherry Based on Its Bud and Blossom Models

(in English) We have developed a system which simulates and visualizes the growth of the Prunus x Yedoensis (Someiyoshino) cherry bud and blossom depending on changes of atmospheric temperature. Our bud models are designed and modeled by Maya. We produce a growing animation of the cherry bud and blossom, in which a small bud passes the winter and is expanding gradually, its petals peep out, and finally it blooms. We produce a growth animation of Yomeiyoshino cherry from the bud to the blossom, by using relations between observed temperature and growth of the bud.
