There are several possible 3DTV broadcasting systems with different schemes for coding and transmission of the left and right images. Each system has different compatibility with the 2DTV broadcasting system and different reception/display capability by 2DTV receivers. ARIB has set the basic requirements that would govern the selection of a 3DTV broadcasting system, and has indicated the most suitable system that satisfies each set of the requirements. |
