Design and Experiment of Patch Array Antenna for FPU in 2.3 GHz Band

(in English) During live outside broadcasting (OB) of road races, such as marathons and ekiden, video images are taken using cameras on moving OB vans and the signals of the video images are transmitted by FPU in 700 MHz band. The frequency band for the FPU is planned to migrate to 1.2 and 2.3GHz bands by the action plan for radio spectrum reallocation developed by the ministry of internal affairs and communications. In this report, we designed three kinds of transmission antennas to compare the transmission characteristics in 2.3 GHz band FPU used in the course in Kyoto. As a result, we found that the patch array antenna to provide high gain toward the front and back of an OB van can achieve high reliability of the wireless links in a race course in Kyoto
