Electrical Characteristics of Receiving Antenna for 21 GHz-band Satellite Broadcasting

(in English) A 21-GHz band satellite broadcasting system is being studied as a means of delivering Ultra High Definition TV, 3DTV, and other advanced forms of broadcasting. In common reception equipment like a condominium and so on, a receiving reflector antenna whose diameter is greater than or equal to 60 cm is generally used. The reflector is made of a metallic mesh and fiber reinforced-plastics (FRP) from the point of view of survival wind and weight saving. Therefore, we fabricated a 21 GHz-band receiving antenna, which has a reflector made of the metallic mesh and FRP, and evaluated its radiation patterns.
