Oblique astigmatism was induced when the unilateral ciliary nerves are stimulated.

(in English) To investigate the control and mechanism of accommodation, we have measured accommodation and higher order aberrations with a compact wavefront aberrometer before/after the short ciliary nerves of anesthetized cats were electrically stimulated[1][2]. We stimulated the lateral branch, medial branch and both of the branches of the short ciliary nerve between the ciliary ganglia and eye. In this study, using principle component analysis, accommodation was induce by the both stimulation and the oblique astigmatism with different axes were induced by the lateral and medial stimulations respectively.
