Synthesis of emissive oxide liquid crystal material by a soft-chemical process

(in English) The novel red-emissive nematic inorganic liquid crystal material, HEu(MoO4)2 nanoscroll solution was obtained by the H+-exchange of KEu(MoO4)2 in 0.01 M aqueous HNO3 solution, at room temperature, for 7 days. K+ ion in HEu(MoO4)2 nanoscroll powder was not detected and successfully exchanged with H+ ion. HEu(MoO4)2 gradually rolled up with exfoliating, and eventually was torn to pieces(nanoscrolls). HEu(MoO4)2 nanoscroll solution exhibited red emission under excitation at 465 nm assigned to the f-f transition of Eu3+. Microscope images of the solution under crossed polrizers showed the bright and dark domain with the angle control.
