Yusuke Murase, Kazuhito Murakami (Aichi Prefectural Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A teaching method leading with a hand or deriving it is one of the traditional and well performed exercise methods to convey a technique. Getting a hint from this technique, this paper proposes a prototype calligraphy system using a haptic device. In this experiments, the effectiveness of our proposed system was examined by comparing the basic results of the subjects who used a haptic device and who did not use it. This paper considers the experimental results and discusses how to apply haptic device to a calligraphy system.
