Structural Design of Micro-Pixels for Dynamic Holographic LC Devices

(in English) We must minimize the pixel pitch of spatial light modulator using liquid crystal to less than sub-micron for achieving wide viewing-zone-angle of dynamic electronic holographic display. In this study, we considered effects of optical phase modulation for various electrode shapes. As a result, the electric field leak to both of adjacent pixels when the conventional top-bottom electrode is minimized to less than sub-micron pixel pitch. To overcome this, we also considered electrode shape of top-bottom driving electrode and lateral electric field driving electrode. We then reveal it is necessary to apply uniform lateral electric field using wall electrodes.
